The Energy Club of Rajkiya Kanya Mahavidyalaya (RKMV), Shimla was established in collaboration with the Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) to promote awareness about energy conservation, sustainable living, and responsible use of electricity among students and society.
The Energy Club of RKMV aims to create awareness among students about the importance of energy conservation and sustainable living. The club encourages students to adopt eco-friendly practices, save electricity, and promote the use of renewable sources of energy.
Through activities such as seminars, rallies, poster-making competitions, plantation drives, quiz competitions, declamation contests, and awareness campaigns, the club motivates students to become responsible citizens and protect the environment.
The club also creates awareness regarding consumer rights, electricity safety measures, complaint mechanisms, and efficient power utilization. It continuously works towards developing scientific thinking and environmental responsibility among students for a greener and healthier future.
The students of the Energy Club actively monitor the energy production of two installed 20 KW solar power plants on the college campus. Students regularly calculate energy generation and estimate energy savings, helping them gain practical exposure to renewable energy systems and sustainable technologies.
The club continuously works towards building an environmentally conscious campus and inspiring students to contribute towards a clean, green, and energy-efficient future.
